Oat Brownies

These brownies are naturally gluten-free since they are made with oats instead of wheat flour.

They are just as luxurious and fudgy though!

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 80-100g of dark chocolate

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 80g butter

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 cup of oats

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • a handful of walnuts

  • pinch of salt

Method

pre-heat your oven at 170C

  1. In a saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter together over a low heat. Stir occasionally until fully melted, then set aside to cool.

  2. Place your oats in a mixer and blend until powdery, like a flour.

  3. In a bowl, pour your chocolate mixture and add the sugar. Mix until combined.

  4. Add 1 egg and vanilla essence and mix until the egg is fully incorporated.

  5. Mix together the oats, cocoa and pinch of salt.

  6. Now it's time to mix your wet and dry ingredients. Add your dry ingredients bit by bit and stir until the batter is nice and smooth.

  7. Take your cake tin or bread tin (I used two small bread tins), grease it (I use the butter foil) and pour in the batter.

  8. Cook for 25-30 mins in the oven until the top has formed a crust and the cake is set.

  9. Allow the cake to cool and then it's ready to eat! Guilt-free.
