London Fashion Week presents Tran Hung

Tran Hung’s new collection for SS23 is a feast for the eyes if you love anything that sparkles. The clothes spoke for themselves as the catwalk unfolded in silence in homage to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Sheerness and embellishments are a big trend for next spring and the collection embraces understated glitz that flatters both the female and male form. The Waldorf Hilton and its art deco ballroom is the perfect backdrop for the show to begin. As the models begin to walk and the drama builds, a bit of magic spreads around the room. Purples and deep fiery reds are the order of the day at the Tran Hung show as floral sequinned embroidery give place to structured flame mini dresses in a world that lies somewhere between bold design and effortless glamour.

Tran Hung is from Vietnam, where the fashion industry is still very much emerging. He is one of the well-established brands in Vietnamese luxury fashion and he is well known for his sophisticated, glamorous designs. Hung is however a first time official member of LFW schedule this year so this is a hugely proud moment for him and his career.

As many brands are striving for in this pivotal time, Hung is working towards becoming a fully sustainable fashion house. 90% of the raw materials used are environmentally friendly or ethically sources. The sewing is almost exclusively done by hand which is at once highly technical, and machine free. Of all these materials, organza is the one that Trung loves the most, which is unique to him within the landscape of Vietnamese fashion. Add to this Swarovski crystals and Miyuki beads and you have Hung's recipe for glamour.

This season, Hung takes inspiration from the classic flowers - roses, poppies and chrysanthemums and the colours of summer blossoms. Think sleek silhouettes and elegant tailoring which flatter men and women equally.

As this is in fact the launch of Hung's first menswear collection, male models adorn the catwalk and to their garments he applies a touch of feminine beauty in just the right amount.

Tran Hung's collection will be available to shop soon via the Tran Hung website. Previous collections are available to purchase here.
